Checked out the new 903 yesterday. I didn't expect to like it much, but I was wrong.
Its very solid & feels great in the hand. Blade shape is about perfect IMO.

Nice, that drop point blade looks so much better than the tanto version. I had the 904 for a second but returned it as I didn't like the hump on top. Personal preference I guess, otherwise it was just about perfect.

I find that d2 develops rust spots . I like 154cm or s30v. I think it would be cool if knifeworks did a m390 903. I hope we see a full size 908 with the same blade.

I just saw this for the first time. I may have to pick this one up. I ended up giving my mini tanto styker to my brother-in-law. I would love to see these done in m390 though.

I like everything about it except the blade steel. Sure wish it was S30V but otherwise it looks like a cracker. The full size version is out now too.

I wonder why Benchmade dropped D2?

Has D2 been dropped across the board? If so, that sucks. BM did D2 great, one of my favorite steels. Ill take it over S30V all day. I have no problem w/ 154, great steel.

This knife is on my list. For all who desire an Ares, this is a fine alternative. Pretty much the same blade shape. Go seek a 73x, if you find one, compare price....see how that works out.

I can not overstate, if BM has dropped D2, ..that blows.

I don't think they discontinued D2 unless they just did it. I recently bought the new HK 14715 and it is D2.

This knife was available as the 912/913 with D2 and it performs terrifically with that steel. The change to 154CM and higher price was a change not many would understand I guess.

Roger that. One of my favorites and one of the few constants in my rotation. In my pocket as I type. Sorry it was disco'ed, glad there is an Axis version, ..yes, would have liked to have seen D2 on this.

Alway seem to prefer the disco'ed stuff, thought this just fine the way it was..

Then again, my favorite version is long gone. Progress, aye? Overrated sometimes.

Hey, BM could always put M4, M390 or S90V under the hood of a 903...keep it under 2 bills...that would be progress.
