Anyone know a place that sells this stuff? It's made by Loctite but their site doesn't show where to buy it.
Product Name: 90C RESINOL IMGR SLT
Item No.: 18017
Product Type: Sealant

This may or may not help you, but...

I ran a search on Resinol, and I think you're looking for RTC Resinol, a porosity sealer. I couldn't find much on it, but I found a company called EIS that seems to have it in sizes in up to 250 milliliters. The order number should be 29041. Not sure how they sell stuff, and how to order, but it says "Call EIS" under the comments. Maybe they have it in bigger containers too.

All the way at the bottom under porosity sealing and RTC Resinol.

Main website at:

Phone number for EIS Inc. is 1-800-380-4347.

Thanks Eric!!! RTC is what Loctite calls it too. I used google search and just couldn't find it.

Michael, please let me know what you find out about getting some of this. I've been looking for a source myself.

You can check with boatbuilding supply houses. A lot of wooden boat builders use it because it can be applied without mixing to the planks.
Good Luck!

L6..I think you will have to order direct from lockite , .Minimum of 4 gal, approx. $300 U.S. Has to be shipped packed in ice.Best shipped in winter.

You DO NOT want RTC. You DO want 90-C. RTC is chemically activated, 90-C is heat activated. Try to find a local industrial supply place that sells Loc-Tite products they can get it for you.

Ugh!!!!!!! Oh for the simple days of merely grinding steel and slapping dymondwood handles on it, sheesh! Thanks Sattley!! I'm callin Loctite tomorrow.

I'm callin Loctite tomorrow

Michael, Loctite called me today after I had sent them an email. The lady I talked to said it was unusual to hear from an end user. They mainly deal in bulk to industrial impregnators. I said something like I can impregnate. She wasn't having any part of it. She flipped me over to some guys voice mail who was an expert. I left a message. We'll see what he says if he ever calls back.
If he doesn't, I'll start naggin them again.

Heres the reply I got from them.

"Michael, that is a Loctite direct sell item only. You will have to contact Loctite directly @ 1-800-474-1297. Ask for Gary. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know."

Got a source for Resinal 90C

Good news, bad news deal...
Another Loctite guy called me today. Brad Spears, I don't have his number with me but will post it later. He knew all about knife makers treating wood with Resinal 90c, said it was common and a guy in Arizona started the whole thing. He said he couldn't really say anything about how well it worked given that wasn't what it was designed for but many people were using it for stabilizing wood. The only way to get it is direct from Loctite, it sells for $69.15/gallon with a 4 gallon (one container) minimum. He said to call him and he would arrange the authorization through customer service for a direct sale.

Now, I sure don't want 4 gallons but I would be willing to buy 1 gallon of the 4 gallon minimum....and I'd even pay a little extra to whomever volunteered to split stuff up and reship it. (it's important to know your limitations, and splitting it, shipping it would be one of them)
Anyone interested??

Do you know the contact info for Brad Spears? Would like to talk to him about buying Resinol 90C in bulk. Thanks!
