Got a source for Resinal 90C
Good news, bad news deal...
Another Loctite guy called me today. Brad Spears, I don't have his number with me but will post it later. He knew all about knife makers treating wood with Resinal 90c, said it was common and a guy in Arizona started the whole thing. He said he couldn't really say anything about how well it worked given that wasn't what it was designed for but many people were using it for stabilizing wood. The only way to get it is direct from Loctite, it sells for $69.15/gallon with a 4 gallon (one container) minimum. He said to call him and he would arrange the authorization through customer service for a direct sale.
Now, I sure don't want 4 gallons but I would be willing to buy 1 gallon of the 4 gallon minimum....and I'd even pay a little extra to whomever volunteered to split stuff up and reship it. (it's important to know your limitations, and splitting it, shipping it would be one of them)
Anyone interested??
