I picked up this jewel at auction, and I'm wondering whether the clip point blade has been replaced.
The point sits above the handle; enough to catch on pocket or skin.
The spine doesn't align with the spring when it's open.
In the first photo you can see a significant gap between the liner and spring on the clip point side.

None of that is a big deal alone, but all together it's weird for a Camillus. Any wisdom or comparisons would be appreciated.

It's a very nice knife, apparently unused, and if it's original I can fix the proud point and live with that gap. If it's already been modified I might just delete the clip point blade entirely.

Thanks!

Looks like the knife has had some work going by the appearance of the pivot pin.

The markings on the blade are maybe 1990 at the oldest.

Thanks, that's my thought too.
The fact that the point sits high enough above the liners to catch skin, running my finger over it, really bothers me.
I can't really put words to it, but the pull isn't right either. The cam feels off somehow and it's gritty, where the spey is just silky smooth.
I'm not really familiar with their late-century knives, but this is something you'd never see from the 70s & 80s Camillus

Yes , lots of partially completed knives when the factory closed and everything went to auction .
I know I picked up a few when they hit Ebay

That makes a lot more sense than a reblade. There's no visible wear anywhere.
I can easily hone the kick and drop that point down where it's safe; I think there's room without getting into blade rap.
The rest of it I have to think about...
Thanks, y'all. I remember seeing some blades on ebay when they closed down but had totally forgotten about it.
