First time poster here ...

I'm admittedly not much of a benchmade aficionado, but picked this knife up because I wanted something a little bit beefier and more utilitarian than the bugout I use as an EDC knife, in effect something for when I'm not in the office . I've had the itch to pick up a 915SBK for awhile and came upon this on ebay. After buying it, and yes I probably should of done more research, have come to the conclusion it's not actually listed in any of the bench made catalogs nor does the production date match when the 915 was sold to the public. It's labeled 915SBK-POM and has a pommel instead of the glass breaker, which is also kind of different.

The bottom of the box shows a NSN which I googled and that appears to correspond to a government contract, which leads me to assume this is perhaps a service issued knife? Curiosity is getting the better of me. Deep searching revealed a couple of these but there isn't much info out there. Does anyone know the backstory? If it's a fake, it's pretty convincing.

i’ve heard of that one before but it’s been a while. i believe it was a special run of 915s for the military maybe 7 or so years ago, tho i could be mistaken
