Ok how did you guys manage to keep this absolutely fantastic GEC model #92 a secret for so long??? Thanks to one of our esteemed members here in the Traditional Forum I was turned in the direction of this model. After careful study of some great pics we made a deal two days ago... I had never even taken notice of the #92 for some inexplicable reason, but suddenly here was this revelation, pointing me to the #92!

Well it just arrived this morning and I could not be happier! Predictably as with every Northfield/GEC I've gotten it is nothing short of beautiful in it's fit and finish. The size and heft of this model is wonderful and it just feels great in hand.

As an added thrill it's even in Autumn Gold bone which matches my other two fav/EDC's perfectly (the #55 and #06). They now make a matching Trio of Northfields that complement one another wonderfully. In fact the #92 is almost like a full-size Pemberton and shares similarities in appearance.

Anyways, I'm very impressed with the 92, so take a look this one if your not familiar with it.

Any other 92 fans here? Lets see some pics!!

My #06, 55 and newest member of the family - the 92 :)

That's a great looking trio.

And yeah, the #92 is right up there with the #15 and #48 families for my all-time favorite GECs.

The 92s are stellar. I like the matching trio!

P.S. The wear on your #55 bone is divine. Looks like a 100 year old knife.

That is one heck of a nice looking trio! I'm glad you like the #92  It is a sweet and somewhat unique looking jack knife.

I have the same model as yours, but reground the master into a clip blade, my preference. The handle is very ergonomic, and the little coping secondary is wonderful (especially after rounding the top corner). A great EDC.

I just got this Ebony Tidioute in the mail yesterday. I like it but I think I am going to round off the top of the coping blade too. It actually interferes a little with the nail nick in the main blade a bit.

I just checked mine ref the coping blade obstructing the nail pull. On mine doesn't appear to be an issue. Must be the grind on the blade stop (sorry not sure of the term) when closed. Nice wood covers on your's!

I think on the Northfields it would be less of an issue. I can get it open ok but still it doesn't seem quite right.

i'm a big fan of the 92 also, so much so, that I carry it every Friday as a treat to myself at the end of the work week.

Actually, there was quite a bit talk when these came out earlier this year. Started as a SFO for JBF Champlin & Sons and followed by Tidioute bareheads. The Northfields came out later with end caps.

Here's mine. I love it but I'd been having some problems with rusty liners (humid climate and summer). Now that the weather's cooling off sweat won't be much of a problem so I'll be carrying it again.

Great collection. The rosewood Champlin is simply stunning.

The JBF Champlin stag version was my Christmas present last year:

I met Mike (one of the Champlin principals) in a parking lot across the street from our campus to pick it up, LOL. Turns out I've known him for quite awhile through another school.

It's a beautiful knife and doesn't get enough carry as I don't want to spoil it. I don't have safe queens per se, but this one is close. I should rectify that...
