I want to get another Benchmade and I was thinking about the 940-1. Is that a good buy? Is it a limited run? I've always loved the looks of the 940 and just wanted to hear your opinions on it.

The price seems to be the same no matter where you look. It's a very light blade, but appears to have the same durability as most Benchmades. The S90V makes it even better.

The 940-1 is one of the best EDC knives you can buy IMO. And cheaper than a small sebenza. Can't go wrong. Works in a shop or woods even Sunday morning church mass. Yeah it's that good :)

Not my pic but I carry a 940-1 and my pioneer together a lot. Can you tell I love the 940 series. Lol

I just wanted to hear from some benchmade fanatics XD

You're putting more thought into a knife purchase than I did naming any of my three daughters lol :D

Just get it, man. The 940 is a superb knife, and I'm sure the 940-1 is even better.

Or, grab a used 940 from the exchange for a good price, and buy a set of custom scales for it. You wont be getting the S90V but you will have something unique instead. I just put a set of CF scales on my regular 940, and I'm already looking at a set of blue G10 scales now.

I bid on a 940 with custom g10 scales by death grips brand new on ebay but I lost due to a glitch. I think I'm gonna order a 940-1 today.

Great knife and you cannot go wrong here.
If you haven't ordered already I would suggest holding one in a store if you can. I have both the 940 and the 940-1 and there's no doubt that the S90V blade on the 940-1 is WAY superior for edge retention and the handle is beautiful. BUT, the regular 940 is still awesome. AND if you close your eyes and hold both, the 940 has a better balance IMO because the ultra-light handle on the 940-1 makes it front-heavy. Not that this is really a problem. I'm just saying if looks and edge retention are high priorities get that 940-1 and you'll love it. But, if a great EDC is all you want and the S90V and Carbon don't matter that much to you you will also love the 940 and save a bunch of $$.
You'll never regret buying any 940 series.

It's a really nice lightweight pocket friendly folder. The edge retention of the steel is excellent.Pull the trigger and don't look back......This knife seems to limit the pocket time of my ZT 0770cf.When I go light the 940-1 is near the top of my list.

This is a great knife. I've had mine for months and have used it. Highly recommended. That being said the regular non CF 940 is great as well. Adding the CF and the higher end steel is just more of a luxury.

Received mine last week. Awesome and knife and you will not be disappointed. I emailed benchmade and they are sending me out a couple deep pocket clips for it next week for free too!
