I currently own a 940-2 and I really like it but I have been interested in the Knifeworks exclusive 940-1501 for some time. The only "negative" that I have heard about it is that some people find the G10 a little slippery. Can anyone who owns both of them give me a comparison of how their handles feel? I assume that the handles are exactly the same other than color, which wouldn't bother me at all, but its better to be safe than sorry.

Don't own the 940-2, but do own the 940-1501. I don't find it to be slippery. Granted, it's not as textured as, say, Spyderco's G-10 on the PM2 and the like but it stays securely in my hand when in use. Put another way, I would definitely buy it again if I were to lose the one I have.

I have the 940-1501. I get sweaty hands and I find the G10 quite slippery. While the smooth G10 does look good I’d prefer it to be more aggressively textured. Like Spyderco’s. Speaking of aggressive G10, my Dpx Hest Urban G10 is really aggressive and it’s fantastic. It’ll rip my skin before it slips out of my hand.

I agree with all of this. I replaced my g10 with the carbon fiber from the 940 1 (don't like s90v so much anymore. Too many chipping probs and fixing it is eating my stones at a crazy fast pace. Hated the g10 on the -2 which has worn badly and the little texture on it is smooth as a baby's bottom. So I switched out the cf and put my s30v blade in there with the green thingies which look way better on cf then the blue. Tis my purrfect 940 now.

Although a lot of people don't like to spend extra money on an already not-so-budget priced knife, but DoAT's custom 940 G10 scales have a nice texture to them, and I'm sure the micarta versions are nice too (only have micarta on my Grips currently).
