940-2 with a black blade??

Forgive me if this has been asked somewhere before...

Just purchased my 940-2 and may just be my favorite EDC blade... Benchmade hit a home run with this one. Got to thinking about how sweet it would look with the black G10 and those green standoffs to have a black coated blade...

Does anyone know if this is in the works?
 
Too bad Benchmade does not have a spokes person like another popular knife company it would be a warm welcome in my opinion
 
You know me . . . or maybe you don't . . . I say MOD.
I am always going at my tools, knives included, to make them into useful things for the way I work.

Remove the blade.
Pack it up
Send it to one of the knife maker dudes here and have it coated.
I don't know that, in fact, any offer that service.

Failing that contact a metal plating company (think chrome plating and nickel plating) in a major city and ask them if they are willing to get this into a batch to be coated.

DLC coating is used for other than knives and is considered to be a superior low friction surface treatment for engine parts etc.

Worth a shot.
Let us know how it goes. I would be interested in doing the same.
