So the title basically explains it, but I want both the 940 and the 707 from benchmade, and I am leaning more towards the 940. It caught my eye right away, and now I really want it. I will own both eventually, but for now I just need one. Anybody have any experience with either of those knives? Thanks!

I think the longer handle on the 940 makes it more comfortable if you need to cut a lot of stuff, or tougher materials.

I have both and get the 940, even with the ninja turtle color scheme it's my favorite knife.

Just look at a few more pictures of the 940 blade.... You know you want that right now.

The 940 is one of my all tine favs! Very light and slim, yet a lot of blade. And it looks great too 😃

I've had the 943 and the 707. Love the 940
and 943, and mine will always be a keeper. The 707 just
felt smaller than i'd imagined...

I EDC my 940 with custom DOAT scales or my 940-1, I have many other knives but none fit the job as well
GO 940!

940 and it isn't even close. The 707 isn't nearly as nice in real life as it looks in the pictures.

Both are great. The 707 is a little small so the 940 takes it for me in that respect. The amount of blade both have is impressive but that 707 blade is really surprising to me.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I will be getting the 940 first! The 707 will be suspended on my wish list for awhile!

If I had to choose one to carry/use I'd take the 940 simply because I appreciate the longer blade. I also adore my 940-1CF, it's one of my favorite knives overall... 707 is def worth checking out and I kept one in my rotation. It's a worthy competitor for a 3 inch edc (same capabilities niche as a small seb).

I haven't handled a 707, but I do have a 940 and really like it. It's very compact yet packs almost a 3.5" blade.

I've had both for a long time. The 706 is a great smaller EDC, especially if blade to handle ration is your thing in a small folder. I have a Gold Class 940 with titanium handles, carbon fiber bolsters, and high hardness CPM-M4 tool steel. That is one of my favorite steels, along with M399. The knife rocks! I am awaiting the carbon fiber S90v version to arrive any day. Testing will then begin on various materials.

OP, this forum is full of 940 fanboys, so good luck getting an honest answer. I've handled them before, but nothing really wowed me.

My vote is for the 707. Love mine

Both are good quality,I think it just depends what length you want. Sure there are other features that are different between the two, but for me the biggest are length and looks when it comes to deciding between two knives
