940 Project (Blade swapping)

I've been trying to snatch up one of the LE 940s with a damascus blade but I haven't yet been successful so I decided to do some blade swapping and come up with my own. I picked up a Grand Leavitt Damascus 940 blade and did some swapping with my 940-1 and 943. I really like the look of the damascus and the CF and my love of the 940 comes from that reverse tanto blade shape so I thought it would be awesome to put the S90V blade from the 940-1 in my 943.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I need to play with the damascus blade a little bit to try to get it more centered but I think they're both pretty sexy.

What do you guys think?

Nice combination. The 940-1 is on my want list. Still trying to justify the purchase to myself
 
I never cared for the 943 blade shape and I didn't know of the damascus either. Well done! Those look fantastic. It fit's the knives personality better. The 940-1 is, for me, used as a sexy pocket pall that is used to cut things that don't require my Leatherman (box, tape, string...) Putting the *ss kicking s90v on a more work friendly knife also fits perfect. I would use the hell out of the 943 w/ s90v and admire the damascus 940-1 day and night. Thanks for posting, but I'm sure you could hardly wait to get these pictures up.

Nice blade swap,now it's a true BM custom.

I believe you're knife is 943 is actually a 942 because all 943's have green anodized handles and a clip point blade while yours is black and has a reverse tanto blade

This is my 943 after the blade swap -- damascus blade into the 940-1 and the blade from the 940-1 into the 943. Since the damascus blade was new the clip point blade from the 943 is just extra now.

It's the standard 940 that has the green aluminum handles. The 943 has a clip point blade with a black aluminum handle.
 
Wow I didn't know anyone made blanks for Benchmade knives that looks sweet, love the sterile damascus blade.

all 943 models have black scales not green.



941 models are green among other various colors.

942 models are black

940 models have a ton of different scales.
