Forgive me if this has been asked (or even beaten to death somewhere), but does the chalky feel of the aluminum ever wear off? I really want a 940, but I don't know if I could get past that.

The chalky feel right out of the box does wear off after a while, just depends on how much you use it I suppose..

I received mine in a trade and it has no chalky feeling to speak of. I say that because if it was chalky at one time, it certainly is not now. So, one can surmise that yes, the chalky feeling does indeed wear off over time.

To each his own... I actually like the chalky feeling and wish it wouldn't wear off. :) Gives it a bit more grip IMO.

I bought mine about 6 weeks ago and I love it. Handled a few earlier models that felt too slippery. Not often will things work out like that for me. I much prefer the chalky feel, for better handling.

If it doesn't work for you, maybe you could trade someone for an older model?

I got three 94x I EDC. All have seen equal pocket time.
For some reason my black 943 has no chalky feel at all now :( it even feels somewhat slippery.
One green 940 has still a bit, the other seems unaffected for some reason.
I wish it would last forever. I just love the chalky feel. That's why I have one I keep unused...
