On wed i bought A bnib 940 from a local benchmade dealer and today i noticed that the thumb studs spin i was wondering if that was normal or somethin i need to Send in for warranty

Mine don't spin. I say get a T-6 Torx and tighten them up. That's all they take. You are talking about the studs in the blade right?......not the Axis lock bars?

One of my 551's had the same issue. I tried, with a pretty good amount of force, and two torx drivers, to tighten the thumbstud,
but it kept on spinning.
I took the thumbstud off, and discovered a dried ring of excess threadlocker/loctite around the base of the threads.
I cleaned it off, re-applied a tiny amount of threadlocker, and it snugged right up, with no more movement.

I should have specified that you need TWO - T6 Torx drivers as you need one on each side to tighten properly.

I just use a couple pair of pliers, or pliers and a t6, they have to come off for sharpening anyhow.
