Hey guys I'm thinking about purchasing a benchmade 940 or 943. I can't decide on which one to go with. Do any of you have experience with both? Which one would be better for edc? Thanks

The 940 has a more utilitarian blade with a stronger tip. I like the black handle/blue spacer of the 943 better though. Both are great but I'd give the edge to the 940 BC the blade makes it a better all arounder IMO.

I wish they made a black handle version of the 940. That would be perfect.

I replied to your identical thread in General but if you want to read more discussion do a "940 943" search in this sub forum. Good luck.

Oh, and: 940 :D

Ditto.

I only own three BM's, two I got off of here at tremendous deals or I probably wouldn't own them because personally BM's are a bit overpriced to me. With that said the 940 might be the best all around EDC I have ever owned.

I got a first gen 940 154cm off of here for an Esee 4 and $20 (couldn't pass that up). It is so awesome I'm going to order G10 scales for it to remedy the only thing I don't like about it which is the aluminum scales. It led to me forking over $220 for a NIB 940-1 which might have been my "Grail" knife. I also landed an excellent example of the 943 for $105, another great design by BM. I love the 943 and I'll never part with it but nothing in the BM lineup compares to the 940 IMO.

I prefer the 940. The new 940-1 with CF scales is the perfect EDC for me. It knocked a Sebenza out of my pocket. Yeah, it's that nice.

The 940 is one of my most carried blades and I got it brand new in a trade for a PM2... good deal on my part :)

i have the 943 and think its more sheeple friendly and its been a fantastic edc had it for 7 months now
