I might have the opportunity to pick up a NIB 940TI Protoype and was wondering what a reasonable price would be for it. I never see them for sale so I have no idea what its worth. There is one on ebay for $750 without box but it hasn't sold so its gotta be worth less than that, haha.

Also, how many prototypes are usually released?

Is it done with frame lock/liner lock or axis lock? I think if they are able to do one in full Ti axis I would buy it in a hear beat. Otherwise it's just another Ti folder with 940 handle shape. What kind of blade stock btw?

I saw that one, and I'd sure like to have it, but not at that price. I think $500 would be my top dollar, but without the original box, I'd say more like $350-$400. I have no clue what the original price on the 940Ti was, or what they sell for these days, that's just what I'd be willing to pay.

It's an Axis lock 154cm blade.

I thought I saw one on "The List" at a small pawn broker down in the Deep South. Listed as NIB complete and I think they were asking $650.

Prototypes are always released in small numbers and are the ones that typically increase in value as a result. Prices? Who knows, but the 940Ti is a rare knife.

I looked up that one crolfe was referring to and it was actually listed at $450 with the original box.
