I've tried my hardest but can't make up my mind. I've narrowed down thousands of knives to the 3 that interest me most.

Spyderco Sage 2
Spyderco Chokwe
Benchmade 943

I know all three are very high quality and I'd be happy with any of them- but if I don't get some of yalls opinions I might just buy all three... which I DON'T have the money to do :(

So this will be my EDC blade for basic everyday cutting tasks and some food prep (cutting an apple). Some extra bonuses I enjoy are buttery smooth deployments and overall fondling fun :jerk it:

So if you were me and you had to pick just one, which would you pick and why?

If you have any other recommendations based on my taste I'm happy to hear them! (I like classy knives that are built like tanks)

Thank you for your time and help in advance!

Chokwe is discontinued, so now is the time to buy. It's at $125 at the self designated center of the Internet but could drop lower as more stores move it to their disco list.

BM 94x is one of those knives you just have to own, though.

So now I'm leaning towards the Chokwe... and I agree the 940 is a classic... but the sage 2 is phenomenal as well...

now I feel like it's more of a matter of "Which blade should I buy first?" hahaha... my poor wallet.

I have owned all three, but I sold the Chokwe. It just seemed "clunky". Both the Sage 2 and the 943 are great knives. I keep my Sage clipped to the visor of my car and carry my 943 for EDC at the office. The 943 is a little thinner and longer and the Sagevis a bit beefier.

The Chokwe just seems less refined than the other two, with the least versatile blade shape.

I have both a Chokwe and a Sage 2. I LOVE the way the Chokwe looks and it's smoothnes, but I'd pick the Sage 2 as a daily EDC knife. The Chokwe has a very narrow blade towards the tip, and I'd worry about using it for anything frally substantial. The Sage on the other hand is pretty close to the ideal size for a mid-sized EDC.

Still giving it some thought but I've got to ask, am I the only one that thinks the 943 is a bit overpriced for what it is? I've never owned a Benchmade but I've stayed up to date on their designs but I've always thought they were expensive and the 943 is no exception. Now this is compared to Spyderco and Kershaw, which are very high values, so it might make it seem worse. Any thoughts? Are Benchmades worth it?

Benchmades are worth it. USA made, phenominal locking mechanism, cool designs. You'll dig the 940 if you try it out.

Best of luck in your search

Had a Sage 1 (comparable to the sage 2) and a 943 and i edc'd the sage one more. I fell in love with the leaf bladed shape and its ffg. Id go with the sage 2. The 943 is a really good choice if want a knife that doesnt weigh a thing. Only problem with is that mine had some play even when tightened all the way.

Chokwe! Especially since it just got discontinued. It's a bit funny looking, but it is an amazing cutting machine and very, very well built. You can't go wrong with it as a bigger EDC knife.

Sage 2 used to be my favorite until I got a Chokwe. I bought a second Chokwe at Knifecenter.com and the first one is at the machine shop getting modified for a wire clip like the Sage's. After that it will be perfect. It is big by the numbers but it carries in the pocket surprisingly well and feels light for its size. Mine is crazy smooth. They are actually very similar, they use the exact same pillars, screws, and washers I believe. One has a G10 side while one all Ti, but the Taiwan factory does a superb job with both these models. I would get the Chokwe now, then get the Sage 2 later. The Chokwe has a neat story to it also. Don't know a thing about BM, sorry.

Can't go wrong with the Sage 2, or the 943. Both really great designs, you may need to flip a coin.

Great. So now I have credible support for all 3 blades. You guys were all supposed to agree on one blade and save me money :( Seriously though, I'm thinking the Chokwe for now- only because it's discontinued and I've always liked the looked. But in the long run... I may just "need" all 3..

Hahaha thanks for the help, feel free to give more opinions, it's always fun to read who likes what and why.
