I really like the 940, great EDC folder. I had one for quite awhile, then gifted it to a friend when I got the 940-1.
The 940-2 now looks great too, though I don't think I'll get one, preferring the S90V/CF I have.

I used to have a 943, 'til about 3 years ago when some rissole stole it. Loved that knife, more so than the 940. Before I got around to replacing it, the 940-1 had me thinking that surely the 943-1 would appear soon so I'll wait for that. So I have waited. Very. Patiently.

Now here's the 940-2, S30V/G10. Nice. I'd far rather have G10 than alu.
So, how hard would it be, to be putting some 943 blades in some of them G10 handles? Go straight in wouldn't they?
Benchmade, where is the 943-2? I'd buy one for sure. Unless you threaten me with the impending release of the 943-1.

Why is the 943 not getting the updates that the 940 has? Less popular than the 940 I guess, but I'd buy one and I believe many others would too.

I miss having a 943 but want an updated version, without having to buy 2 knives to blade swap with.

It was ChazzyP's pic of his franken' 943 over in the 940-2 thread that set me off about this. Beautiful folder.

Ok, vent over.

If they dropped a 943-1 with the same spec as the 940-1, I'd sell the 940-1 and never look back. For a smaller blade, the 943 is a better shape, and a lot more pleasing to the eye. My lady didn't care for the shape of the 940 blade either, so I switched it out for her.

I'd love a 943-1. I just don't care for the aluminum scales on the current model.

The 943 in CF or G-10 would be awesome. I think of the 943 as a smaller 710 in many ways. I always have room in my collection for them.

Been asking for this for a long time!
Love my 943 with DOAT scales!

The 943 was my first small gentleman's EDC knife. I loved it immediately and still do. Those scales are beautiful.

Thanks Rev!! Ryan, DOAT, does great work!

I've had a 940 and a 940-1 in the past and thought they were great but ended up selling them to fund other knives I was looking to try out. I recently came across Ryan's DOAT Instagram page and was digging his G10 scales so I decided to buy a 943 and have it directly shipped to him. I went with purple because I was getting kind of sick of black g10 and gray titanium and wanted something different for the rotation. His turn around time was quick and they feel great. I'll probably call Benchmade and ask them to send me a parkerized split arrow clip one of these days. Pics at the link below for anyone interested.

Think it was $95. He also includes the hardware to replace the stock back spacer to standoffs.
He'll tell you it'll take 3 weeks and it will probably be less. Great guy to deal with!
Check him out in the Services Offered sub.
They fit perfectly and are more comfortable than stock!
