950 Rift - gritty action

I just recieved a 950-1 in the mail today. The action is very rough and tight, and even after backing the pivot all the way out and lubing with Militec-1, it remains the same. It seems the pivot screw has almost no control over the action. What could be the problem here? Does it need to wear in? Or should I send it in to Benchmade?

i like to take the blade out and clean the bushings, sometimes polishing them with a fine grit sandpaper. then clean out the liner area, a drop or two of lube on the bushings and reassemble. like glass!
