I really like 950 Rift, well I like my 950BK-1 to be exact. I would like of request to BKC with some update on 950.

Round off the edge of G10:

This area should have rounded off. It hinders grip by causing hot spot without wearing a glove. It is not needed to be as aggressive as 810, but smoothing the edge of the handle would be a big plus. Although if you use 810 on regular bases, it would be easy to deal with.

I think this is self explanatory. I can see this would add to machining cost, but lighting the blade would be very ideal and put balance of the knife more to the pivot point.

Jimping:

I have made jimping for index finger and pinky finger. It also provides traction with reverse grip as well.

Reverse grip thumb traction & Spine thumb area jimping:

The place I have outlined in red should have shallow cut (1/16" with, 1/8" apart) Each edge of cuts should be rounded, of cause. Doing this, it would assure grip in normal hold as well as reverse hold. Added traction would provide sure grip without having aggressive protrusion like that in 810.

I like your mods, most of them could be fixed in the laser process besides the g10. Which I'm sure it wouldn't and shouldn't add to cost.

I don't feel it needs jimping at all. Maybe round off the g10 in the middle. I've thought about it, but mine doesn't really need it because I don't cut for hours on end. I always give high praise for the 950. Definitely a design they got right, at least for my hand and pocket.

I have added jimping after contour grind G-10 so that I can hold onto it with bare hands all day. I thought that would solve the problem. I have encounter the situation that I was in need to continue to use Rift in hot summer day while I am sweating. I needed to use Rift to do some thrust cuts, as we know the blade is designed for.

I needed to keep adjusting the grip, and I thought myself that it would be nice to have jimping near pivot point. Index finger and thumb area. The other two are located for the use with reverse grip.

Do we need it all the time? May be not. It is nice to have it and not needed than not having one and wish it is there.

I saw on forum that DOAT had done this mod to the forum member. (I don't have a picture of his finished product..)
