On a business trip through the midwest and southeast a couple of years ago I stopped in to SMKW to pick up a pocket knife. I'd started the trip by flying to Chicago so had nothing but my airport friendly SAK with me. After drooling all over the display cases there (wow, what a store!) I decided on an Uncle Henry trapper for about $20. When I had a chance to look at it closer that evening I saw that the blade was embossed with "Schrade Cutlery 95 Years of Excellence". Tang marking is SCHRADE + USA 285UN. I've carried this piece off and on, but now I'm wondering if it has some collector's value and I should store it away. Any info?

Hi your knife while a good user is not financially or historically really enhanced by having the blade etching. However it does make it a nice display piece and as time goes on will certainly not hurt it's value. And you really aren't paranoid if they are talking about you. You are intuitive.

Thanks for the info. I don't do "display". Just "users" and "keepers". And a large box full of POS of course. Sounds like I can keep using this one. And of course, they're talking about me. They're all jealous the little voices in my head don't talk to them too!
