97OT with Staglon scales...is this unusual or just an end of days knife?

Hello
I am just checking on the condition of my collection stashed in my attic.
I remembered this one. Staglon scales but no UH shield added.

It is in mint condition and has a nice Schrade leather pouch as well.

Is this very unusual or just the factory using up those staglon scales.
Any comments/opinions welcome

thanks. I think I will start using it. After all, that is what it was meant for.

Yep, end of days. For whatever reasons, the trapper was a pattern with parts easily mix-and-matched. Quite a few of those around, and in other variations as well. One blade, two blade, different color handles...

Last time I checked prices, they were going higher than 'correct' 97OT knives.

I like these EOD knives and think of them as part of Schrade's history. The end of Schrade. I also think of them as fantasy knives. Knives that someone wished Schrade had in production. And they do draw some really large bids in the auctions now. I wait for good deals or I pass on them. Here is 3 of mine that show some of the variations. Oh, and the Old Timer version that I saw go for $205.00 once on the bay. I couldn't believe it! I like 'em, but not that much!

This is what Schrade intended to do with the parts, that ended up in your EOD knives.

I just wish they had slapped some Uncle Henry shields on them. Like the phantom 77UH and "15UH". But I'll settle for generic. I usually do on other stuff anyway.
