Question for Derek...
Seems to be quite a consensus that the '98 Commanders are the Suspects' Commander of Choice. Any chance of going back to that original design for '01? Would make for a lot of happy suspects. By the way...non-serrated, satin finish. Thanks.

WHAT!, I did all that work on my Commander for nothing!

I second jackstraw's request. It would make alot of happy suspects.

That would be cool.

I have also asked Derek to see if they can offer real Satin blades in the C/P line.

A resounding "MOST DEFINITELY"

I have a early '99 Commander with the thicker scale and liners...and would be hard pressed to sell it.

A '98 Commander-type with thicker scales
,liners and a Satin finish would be a guaranteed seller.

Please put me down for two.

PLEEEZZZZZZ!!! (me on bended knee begging shamelessly)

That would answer my prayers. I would also spend more money on Emersons.

I have but one word for you guys..."I'll take two of them."

O.K., so I can't count.

I don't know why they were changed...but I wish they would go back to the thicker liners and scales. I would sell a couple other folders for the opportunity to get two more like my BT-98.

Satin Finish, plain edge. Just like #133 I used to have but traded before I learned the wiley ways...I think more than any other knife I mourn the loss of that one because I did not know what I had and I figured I would just get another one.

Can we say this without making anyone mad? Hmm...they are sought after for a reason, because they were better.

This is a GREAT idea. Put me down for a satin plain edge.

I, for one, would like to see thicker liners on the entire Emerson line. My CQC-7B has exhibited the most liner wear out of all my folders that I have had for roughly the same length of time. It's getting to the point that I am probably going to have to send it in for work soon after only one year of ownership and not a whole lot of "hard use."

The 98 Commanders were the topic of our Tac-chat last night. Everyone wants the Commanders to be made as they were in 98, and everyone I've talked to would buy at least one and probably two. I would certainly buy two. The 98's are so hard to find because they were nearly perfect and their current owners aren't willing to part with them. I've been searching for a 98 for months with no luck at all, as have many other Commander fans. Derek, once you get back from the show, can you please discuss this with Ernie and let us know if there's any chance of going back to the 98 design?
