'98 Satin and Mini Satin Commanders

I just got Mini Commander #065 today. It's pretty cool. It's not as smooth or sharp as my '98 Satin, but IMHO the latter knife sets THE standard for all production folders. The handle feels great in spite of it's small size too. My office-mate Robi saw it as I unwrapped it today, and she said, and I quote: "****! That's a cute one!" and she doesn't even like knives. :) OK enough babbling. Here's a scan with '98 Satin #126:

My Satin Mini-Commander #072 just came in yesterday afternoon. Swweeet! It makes the perfect companion to my Satin Waved 7 #278. (I need to get the liners colored blue to match.) :D
 
Ya know . . . the UPS guy never, NEVER comes before 1600!

He must have eaten his Wheatees this morning because I got one of those damn "We tried to deliver Your Mini-C, but you were sleeping . . . LOSER" notes on my door.
 
After I see Recluse got his #65, Hollister told me on the phone he's got one comming yesterday, I think they probably forgot to send mine.

On the way home from work I call Derek from the cell phone and ask him to send mine out. He says ok and checks the serial number. Is #0xx ok? Sure, I reply and tell him to send it out.

Ten minutes later I'm home and find a UPS notice that they were here with a package from Emerson that I missed. I check my Palm Pilot for the UPS delivery drivers number, call him and he tells me where he is and I go meet him and pick up my package. Yep, I've got #067 in hand and #0xx arriving probably tomorrow. Dang, of all the luck!

John, as organized as you are and in police uniform no less, you mean you don't have your UPS drivers cell number?

Mine is off today to BobbyLeeSwagger for the Skull Logo!
 
When i ordered my emerson shoulder rig, ups brought it to my house a lot earlier than normal two days in a row and i wasn't home, so no one could sign for it and they didnt leave it at my door(i guess it was insured or something). Finally on the second day, they ups guy decided to leave the slip "SORRY, WE HAVE YOUR PACKAGE BUT WE CANT LEAVE IT WITHOUT A SIGNATURE" on my door and it also said "if you are not home to recieve it this final and third time, we will send it back to the return adress" So i decided to drive all the way up to the UPS wearhouse that was a hour away! I really wanted that sheath!!!
 
FYI

EKI places stickers on their packages that say "Adult Signature Required". I personally applaud their doing this. One knife company already got a black eye publicly over minors ordering knives via the Internet . . . an then committing two very gruesome murders with said knives.

Will having an adult signature "save lives"? No, probably not. Will it help "bulletproof" the company in civil court should something like that happen? Yeh actually it might help.

I usually don't have any trouble at all with getting my UPS packages as I work nights, but I did a double yesterday and man, I was beat.

I'm getting up early in the morning, I'll nap after I get my new Mini-C. :D
 
My UPS guy paid a visit about an hour ago....

My previous Commander was all black. Somehow the satin one just looks huge in the hand. They're not minis! I just saved the pic the wrong size.
