'98 Specwar

As much as I love the Commanders, the Specwars have always been my passion. Do the "Old Style" '98 Specwars have the same liner/scale thicknesses as the '98s did, or is the hand rubbed blade all I would be buying for $395?

I'd like to second that question. I may be new to Emerson ownership but I've long admired Emersons and the Specwar was the first Emerson to really rein me in and say "whoa nelly". So I have to admit I've been sorely tempted by those "old" style specwars but I haven't gotten around to finding out what differences there are other than the hand finished blade.

I've got one of the older specwars (-99 spearpoint mil-spec) and it's as thick as my 98/99 commanders.
Feels good, and i'm not to keen on the Specwars.

So, for the price of 395 bucks you aren't "just" getting the hand rubbed blade
