I just got an unused 9885 from an acquaintance and would like to know more about it. I think it is a blemish as the sheepfoot blade has some inclusions on the nail nick side. The shield has the trademark stamp. The clip blade is stamped BOKER USA on the front and the clip blade is chemically etched TREE BRAND-MADE IN GERMANY also on the front. The clip blade has a simple nick positioned near the point. The back of the clip blade has USBPA mechanically etched across it. I bought it as a user. Thanks in advance.

So far I think it was manufactured after 1986. The president of the company was Ernst-Wilhelm Felix Dalichow. Not sure of the steel although it appears to be stainless.
Would a couple of pictures help?

Well I've got some pictures.

The knife has the USA stamp. Apparently assembled in the USA. Am I on the right track?

But the clip blade was made in Germany. Perhaps this is a hybrid made from parts from Germany? I don't know but someone on the traditional subforum suggested this. Anyone know if it is correct?

On the back side the tree between 98 85 sorry for the poor photo.

Also inscribed on the back of the blade USBPA. Perhaps an overrun or custom inscription made for someone? Someone thought that it might be a French rugby association. Does anyone have an idea what it stands for?

So, I believe the knife was made @ 1986. The shield has the trademark on it to the right of the tree.
The blades appear to be stainless. I have seen some reference to 440 steel. The blades take a very good edge. I believe superior to my Victorinox SAK blades. Anyone know the type of steel? This is a beautiful knife (that is why I bought it).

At any rate any information is appreciated.
