Anyone know where I can have custom G-10 handles done? I'm looking to have black g-10 made to replace the green on a spyderco dragonfly...

your input is appreciated...

Could you just RIT dye the G10 black? If not see, if Cuscadi could hook you up with some scales.

The Green G-10 on my BM 755 has been dyed black and it holds up just fine. I've seen the Kershaw Tyrade with cream colored G-10 dyed blue. I'm pretty sure I've seen other G-10 dyed as well.

I'm pretty sure you are correct, G10 can be dyed with Rit.

Wow, learn something everyday!

I've seen folks try and dye Micarta and it pretty much rubs off.

How deep does it go in the G-10?

How does it handle pocket wear?

G-10 is a lot denser than Micarta (glass fibers vs. cloth) so I'm surprised.

From what I've read (strictly the experience of others):
The dye absorbs pretty well, depends on the thickness and composition of the material though, as well as the color.
Seems to handle pocket wear amazingly well for knives that are in the EDC catagory. Spyderco G10 seems to accept the dye decently, not sure about others, I have not really read much or seen anything on other G10. Pretty cool trick overall:thumbup:
