Man my memory is totally messed up, I completely forgot I bought this in the exchange; what a nice surprise!
Now I remember thinking "you have to have that in your collection if you're a hard core Emerson fan".
Serial number 0750, nice. Love this blade, dated 2011 it looks better finished than the new ones for some strange reason.
The gimping on it is actually very functional, maybe because it doesn't have the wave?
I'm not a knife maker, I wish I was though, but do you guys know how they cut the liners? Water jets? I'm just curious, but check it out:

I forgot, the blade is not small, it's around 3.6":

I've owned four total up to now, and currently own an A-100 SFS and a Silencerco Mini 100 BT. I can say for certain, I don't plan on getting rid of the two I have now for a long time, if ever.

I'm with you T, this is a classic of classics; simple functional design, comfortable in the hand and pocket; if you get a chance post a pic of that Silencerco Mini, I'd love to see that one.

Nice!
I'd still love a chisel tanto blade in this one.

I agree! I have seen josh @ razor edge turn an a-100 into a Tanto. It looked awesome.

I love my a100 it is my first and only emerson (so far)

One of my favorites but just too small for me. They need to make a super at least 4" blade with wave. I don't know why they wouldn't make one it would sell.

20160307_155214.jpg20160307_155157.jpgVery Nice Mak... I love my a100 and mini a100 .... I also have the tanto model from eki from one of the limited runs. Very similar to the a100 with a tanto blade..

Your right they are very similar, I would get one and match the scales with my a-100. But man I LOVE the Tanto design. The handle etc and way......Here is a dumb but true story about myself. I used to be fine and think 50-100 was a great knife, you can get many nice, good maybe even great. So once I researched more I started looking for features like steel and titanium I picked emerson for many reasons and as I mulled which one they came up on the site, I liked it but it was more than I had to spend so I passed. In retro spec if I knew what I know now I woulda bought it and suffered the consequences from the misses lol anyway I kick myself everytime I see one.

I love my Horseman, it's my favorite next to the mini-15, what does the Silencerco look like, I haven't heard of it....? 👍🏼

What attracted me to Emersons in the first place was the narrow profile of the CQC7--that and the reputation, of course. The A-100 is also appealing for that reason. Since I carry smaller knives more often, I wish the Mini version was still available.

I just received the A100 I ordered in all black plain edge. I had big plans to send it off and change (pimp) a bunch of things.
After receiving it, I decided it was perfect the way it is. It is simple, but perfect, I love this knife!

I agree, the simplicity is awesome, congrats! Picture?

Congrats on the A-100!

The liners are cut with a laser.
Here's one that had the crappy silver ceramic blade coating...we got rid of that.
Hidden liner screws and new contoured scales complete the package:)
