I received three Buck 110s in the mail today and spent a little time in the shop cleaning them up.
This one was in the worst shape, but cleaned up nicely.

$20.00 to my door isn't bad for a 46 year old 4th/1st Buck 110. :)

This is another of the three Buck 110s that came in the mail today.
This is one of the more rare 110s...a 5th/2nd 1972-1973 with inverted three line stamp.
I did a little cleaning on this one and took some scratches out of the blade.

The third one that came in the mail today is a newer 2012 Buck 110.
It was pretty dirty, but cleaned up nicely also.

Nice work, Stumps. How about if a send you a dozen or so to work on.

Thanks Bert! No guarantees of how they would turn out, but it would be my pleasure to clean up some of your 110s this summer. (my way of paying you back for that breakfast you bought me last year in that Wyoming town that starts with a "C") :)

Nice work Stumps. I sure like the ebony on the first one. I enjoy doing mine too. DM

Thanks David! I wasn't sure about it when I first saw that ebony, but I really like it after it got cleaned up.

You dog. First knife is beautiful.

:D Thanks Makael!

Very nice Stumps - they look new again. What do you do with the wood to make it look so nice? OH

Those look great. Looks like you lucked into a good deal on that first one. I lucked into a couple of nice 112's over the last month while looking for old 110's. One is a 2 pin 112, no dots that I think to be a 1973. The other was a 2 dot 112. Looks to have never been sharpened, or barely sharpened(full blade). Looks like it had been buried in a tackle box for 40 years. It was so nasty I couldn't put it in my pocket, but it cleaned up and looks like new and was only $16.50.

jec, does your 2 pin have wood handles or micarta? DM

It has the wood. I haven't been lucky enough to stumble on any 112's with the micarta. It has the darker wood at that, so I think it is probably a 73 if I'm reading things right.

These look great, Stumps. I really like the grain pattern in the second one. Is it ebony?
