Lo all, though Im not plannin on trekking through wilderness, I figgerd this would be a decent place to go for advice as Im sure ya'll are pretty hard on yer stuff. I need a good leather jacket, and I want to get an A2, however, Im not sure whether to get a cooper, or one made by "us authentic" who Ive never heard of until now. While US auth. has some pretty darn neat testimonials on their site, I honestly dont trust such things.

Your advice is apreciated, Yoda.

Try an Avirex horsehide A-2. The regular A-2 jackets are made from goatskin. Horsehide is tougher.

I've been wearing one (seasonal) for approx 3-4 years now and LOVE it!! Mine is the Air Force issue i "picked up" from a friend who works in I.E.U. at Langley.(A.F.B.)It can be worn for "outdoors" activitys, with khakis, etc. Warm enough for semi cold weather(approx. 25 degrees) to fairly warm weather(approx. 70 degrees)and remain completely comfortable.I have never treated the leather. There are no cracks,or light spots in the brown dye(?). Believe me I am not careful when wearing this jacket. It takes a beating. I think if you get one it will quickly become your favorite jacket/coat.
