Same box of stuff the 165 came out of. Had so much fun learning about the 165 I had to go get this one. Looks like collecting has started.

Those 497s are nice knives. They made them (as with all the 49'r series) with this Delrin handle and with a stacked leather handle with finger grooves. The 497 blade seems to be a successor to the earlier Schrade Walden 147, which existed with a number of handle variations. The blade on the 147 was of thinner stock. Some of the first 497s had a Schrade Walden stamp. I like the Schrade full tang models the best of all their fixed blade knives, but this 497 is my favorite of all their "hidden" tang models. You have some good knives there, jim.
