Is there such a thing as a large 9-12 inch bowie knife for a street price of not more than about 125.00, But is still ok for more than just a wall hanger?
If so, any thoughts on specific ones?

You could pick up a SOG Tech Bowie, i've held them and they feel and look really nice. I don't know how they chop, baton, ect ect.

...another for the Trailmaster, or the Laredo bowie.

There are some others out there too, I bought an Ontario Raider bowie for around $65, it's not pretty but it's big, thick, rugged, and made from 1095 steel which takes a good edge, and a real beating!

I suggest the Becker BK9 with the optional micarta scales. It'll run you around $110.
The Marine Raider has a hefty feel but it's not the best. There are gaps around where the guard meets the tang. The end of the handle becomes uncomfortable as your hand slides back when chopping. And the edge is very thick. I've reprofiled mine and it works pretty well now but the Becker is better.
The Trailmaster in Carbon V is no longer made. People like the newer version but in my opinion it's overpriced for a kraton handled Taiwan-made bowie. I have the Carbon V version and again I put it behind the Becker.

I have an SK-5 Laredo Bowie; it's basically a Trailmaster that sacrifices a little bit of chopping power for a finer point. My largest knife, and often at my side when I venture out to the trails of Southern BC and Alberta.

+1 on the BK9., love mine!

I really like the KaBar Large Heavy Bowie. It's a really good deal if you're not looking for a traditional styled bowie.

Definitely check out the Scrapyard Regulator, regardless of what you came looking for.
(Should be available "soon". Could be this week.)

For a good 9" bushcraft blade, I'd get the Becker 9. It's light for a knife that size, and cuts much better than most competitors as the edge geometry is nice and thin (not made for chopping rocks).
