In the spirit of Eli Wallach in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" where he uses the components of 3 or 4 revolvers to make up one gun, if you could put together the features/parts of several knives to make up one what would you use?.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

EDI Genesis I blade, BM Axis lock, Carnivore handle.

So guys whats your preference?

I just ordered an EDI-genesis with A-2 tool steel today. I'll post a short review when I get it.

Ok I am thinking.....Sebenza style Handle(with integral lock, bronze washers, and ease of disassembly/reassembly), Talonite blade(4.5 inches long, 5/32 thick, flat ground drop point), with Spydie hole.

This one's easy, I've been wishing for it for a long time:

BM910 Stryker handle, BM710 Axis Lock locking mechanism, CRK Large Sebenza blade, with the Stryker's blade disc. Could use CRK's BG42 steel, or switch to M2.

... the most ergonomic handle, the best lock, and a terrific utility blade.

Good question Andre. I've thought about this for a while myself.

I would love to have a folder with a Sebenza-like handle (titanium with integral lock) and the Reeve bushing, washer set up. I would like to see a flat ground blade with the Spyderco hole (similar to the Military but maybe a little different). Ideally it would have the same satin finish as my first generation Large Sebenza. Basically I just want a small Sebenza with a flat ground blade and the Spyderco hole. I would rather it have a Spyderco clip also (the three screw kind) in titanium. As far as blade steel goes, I like BG-42 on my current small Sebenza but VG-10 seems nice, or maybe D2. I'm really not too opposed to ATS-34 as long as it is heat treated correctly. For a folder I like to stick to the "stainless" varieties, though D2 is fine.

Darrel Ralph Apogee blade, ummm, Apogee handle, and, ummmm, Darrel Ralph integral lock. Pocket clip by Darrel Ralph.

No, the Apogee is not perfect. How about:

M-2 AFCK blade, Stryker handle, REKAT Rolling lock. Bing! Sounds like a little chunk of heaven to me.

AFCK body, Titanium liners (sans lock), G10 outer liners, 5/32" stock CPM440V blade, Rolling or Axis lock...aahhhh!

Good post !
A nice exercise.
Now you've got me thinking and wishin'!

A big old hump-back Sebenza with a Spyder hole would be great.

Or maybe something like an AFCK with a bigger handle (not as big as an Emerson Commander though) and wider blade.

I also like the little "hook" on the Commander that opens the knife as you pull it from your pocket.

Maybe I am heretical or maybe I think "Sebenza" should really mean "work," but why can't someone, anyone, put together a locking folder that has a terrific blade and lock with easy deployment and a pocket clip, that has a fold-away bit adapter at the other end?

Think of it, a world class tactical/utility folder with a fold away hexagonal socket that could take screwdriver bits in Phillips, flathead, hex, torx, and all others buyable in sets. A bottle opener, a can opener, an extension, a hammering surface, even a damn corkscrew could be invented for one of those interchangeable tool adapters.

With modern locking blades not having the rocker bar locking system, the whole top or bottom back end of the knife is open for a well designed fold away hexagonal socket bit adapter.

Someone make it already. I will not bother saying it was my idea, just send me one.
