My wife's grandpappy is apparently a knife fan. I say "apparently" because APPARENTLY I was supposed to make him a knife to bring to this wedding we have to go to (His birthday is the day before or after the wedding. I don't know which. So it's supposed to be a birthday present.). Now, in reality, I had no damn clue that I was supposed to do this, but my wife swears up and down that she told me that he wanted a knife and she also swears that when she told me about it, I said I would make one for him.
I have no memmory of these things happening what so ever, and truth be told, my wife "thinks" she tells me a lot of things that I never hear about. I think she dreams that she tells me stuff and just doesn't remember that it never happened in real life. Whatever the case, now I was obligated to have a knife ready for him pretty damn soon.
I don't know if the wedding is this weekend or what. All I know is that the wifey made it seem like a rush job. She also said that he wanted something "Margaritaville-ish" on the knife. Margaritaville-ish? WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?! What, does he want a sharp parrot?... or perhaps a lost salt shaker knife handle? Who knows. All I know is that now I didn't have enough time to put together some super-Buffett knife so I had to improvise.
Here is the result. I took one of the B&G's I had left for sale and got creative with the etching machine. I used electrical tape and an exacto knife to make the stencil. It's palm trees.... so don't say, "what the hell is that supposed to be... a Tex-Mex art booger?" I did the best I could.
