Speaking about Fighting Bowies this week here is one from the King of Combat Bowies Bill Bagwell

This Helle's Bell is going to Afghanistan to fight the war on terror. The Gold filled lightening bolts symbolize Air land & Sea and the Bagwell Stamp on the Blade set this one apart

With the steel guard and the coffin handle this is a classic HB that anyone especially a warrior would cherish.. Truly an epic combat piece

I was amazed the other day when Bill told me better than 50 % of his blades where going to Contractors and Soldiers . That to me speaks volumes about the man

Bill Bagwell is a true Combat Cutler and I think that is awesome

Smoking piece wish it where mine

Hi Joe,

Excellent stuff! Another beautiful HB from Mr Bagwell.

And what a great stat about the number of Belles going to contractors or soldiers ... hopefully, this will put paid to the occasional post about how 'Bagwell knives are too good to see duty', and so on ... they're using tools - and clearly respected by those who know what they're after.

those not familiar with bagwell may be somewhat unimpressed by the lack of polish & bells & whistles, bill makes fighting knifes not display pieces & i.m.o. the very best users of that genre in the world. although bagwell can produce polishes & pretties as well as any large bowie maker, he desires to make the finest knife for the intended purpose in the world. some owners take them all over the world to process big game although bill does'nt design his bowies with that purpose in mind.--dennis

Beautiful Knife Joe. My own experiences just about Measures up to Bill's this past year over half of the coffin handled Bowies i have made have gone to active duty personnel or contractors. It is kinda nice to see the operators useing forged blades.

Eric I love to see these coffin handled Bowies going where they are needed and where they can add a bit of comfort confidence and pride to there owners

It is nice to think that some serviceman somewhere will be carrying that fine piece of steel.
Bill Bagwell is the knifemaker I most hope to one day have. I have loved his work since reading his articles on blades in SOF way too many years ago.
I used to customize old Western bowies to his specs for friends back then.
One day.

Three gold lightning bolts... air, sea, land. The background wouldn't be a teal blue arrowhead... would it?? ; )

Gorgeous knife, does this guy have a website? I am curious, I have seen other sheathes that have those little knobs on them, what are those for?

They facilitate the carry of the knife in sheath. Either stuffed in the waist, friction fit to the belt and waistband of the user, or mounted on a "frog" and carried via belt.
