Season's greetings to you, Joe, and everyone! The bowie you see here has one of Bill's Ocean Wave pattern damascus blades with a dogbone handle made of some real nice cocobolo. The brass hilt is a departure from the standard disc or "C" style guard installed on Bagwell bowies. What I found to be so attractive about this one is the unmistakeable feeling of balance that becomes so obvious when held in hand! The knife literally glides and pivots with ease in saber grip, and then you realize that there is a 12 inch blade maneuvering about in front of your hand! Brother Joseph has reported on this endearing quality as well as Pootsy, Crossada and others we have heard from. The knife's good looks were an added attraction too. Can you see the clarity of the pattern? It appears to be detailed and deep, as it turned out. Bill is working up another Ocean Wave Bowie for me and I will report on it when delivered. Many thanks to Joe Paranee for posting these threads (the Safari was great, JP!) and everyone for joining us here. Sincerely, Bob Furusho

What are the dogbone handles like the hands? I've very curious about the feel of them and the eagle head ones as well.

So far my experience is just with stag which can be perfect or loathsome if you get the wrong piece for the wrong hand.

The damascus on that is exceptional..

Dog Bones feel very good but one of my favorites is the Birds head
