Hi Folks.

I was recently commissioned to make this knife. I've never made one like this before so it had some firsts in it for me.

Its basically a Bayley S4 with jimping, a curved rather than angled tang on the top and a protusion at the rear like on the Fallkniven F1.

It took me a while to make as that bolster fixing is tricky. Its like a stick tang bolster on a full tang knife. Took a few attempts before i got one i was happy with, but its not as perfect as i would like.

The steel is RWL-34 with black G10 handle and orange G10 liners, stainless tubes that i had to make myself from some 9mm stainless bar.

I was concentrating on getting all the bits right and realised after i had hardened it that i hadn't stamped it. Muppet... :D

I don't think it turned out too bad for a first try.

What do you guys think?
Cheers
Mark

It looks great! But... to pass muster, you must serve yourself some termites from it - a la Bear Grylls!

I've always lusted for one...

Happy New Year!

I want one! (in my dreams anyway) Those type knives are hard to find and when you do find one its hellishly expensive! Its a beautiful knife though.

That's a great knife. Very nice job. I really like that design and style. Your client has good taste!

It looks very nice for a first try, congratulations. If you are keen in making another one, you have a buyer. Seriously. I have been looking for someone able to handmade a replica of the S4 for a long time... We can continue this discussion by email if positive. Thank you

I'd love one with blue liners!

Great work

(Seriously contact me with price information)
