A couple of excerpts from emails that I received in the last couple of days from one Mister Gene Wiseman. Life is good when you are a Traditional knife knut. :D

Mr. Thomason,
Just letting you know that I shipped your knife Priority Mail yesterday. It should get there Thursday.

Mr. Thomason,
Just letting you know that I finished your knife today. The etch on the blade turned out real well. I might have to make me one like that if I ever get a chance.

Those are much better than the emails I usually get. Don't forget to share pictures with us, Rob.

The mail lady in her old jeep delivered the knife to me today. Gene Wiseman Saddlehorn - brown micarta, etched D2 blade, a little over 3 1/2 inches. Gene said this was his first time etching D2. Got a big ol' grin on my face today.

Nice one Rob! D2 is a great steel and having it etched was a real inspiration.

Very fine looking knife indeed, I particularly like the numerous pins. This beauty would be well at home in the Modern Traditionals thread too.

Pity there are not more Saddlehorns around as it's an exceptionally comfortable in the hand knife.

Regards, Will

I love the contrasts between the blade color, scale colors, and pins. Just a great combo.

The knife is pretty sweet too!

Nice knife! I like the placement of the pull, and, everything else about it!!
D-2 is good stuff!

Thanks for the comments, gentlemen.

I took one more picture to show the etched backspring sandwiched between the steel liners.

Ooooh la lala! I like it.

That is a wonderful handle color...

Sweet saddlehorn!

Gene Wiseman was featured in last months "Outside" magazine in an article about gearmaker collaborations. Gene teamed up with Kaufmann Mercantile to provide his hand forged pocketknives for their house brand. Pretty cool.

Nice Saddlehorn Rob. I'm sure it will get lots of pocket time. Congrats to
you both. Enjoy it in good health...

Jason
