Don't that SAR look good?

This was the crawlfish boil on Highway 16 south of Baton Rouge, LA last weekend. I forgot to mention that.

No fishing necessary since we had gallons of crawlfish.

In GA we called these the backwaters. :D

Man, Oh Man, do I miss a good crawfish boil. The crawfish festival in Biloxi, MS was my second favorite event down south for years.:D

Oh, nice pics too, Thanks!

My father retired to a small town near the Herman Swamp, east of the Lafayette area. Every year since he moved there my brothers and I would go there to visit, usually April/May timeframe. Usually it would be all three of us; sometimes one couldn't make it, but it was a good time. Primary reason: Excuse to go see Dad. Secondary reason: Eat crawfish and cajun food until we couldn't walk (the inability to walk was usually helped with the malted barley and hops used to rinse down that great food;) ) Third reason: Get together and make lots of noise sending lead down range at the State run shooting area.

The knife's not a RAT, but I took it for the benefit of Longun1, who helped me locate it.

He just moved out of there. Katrina went to the east of him, and Rita went to the west. He had water up to his front door during Rita and he figured his luck may be running out. He'll be 70 this year, lived by himself and he decided to move closer to family. Not a bad idea, but..........................

NO MORE ANNUAL CRAWFISH FEASTING!!!!!:(

Guess one of the (few) downsides to moving to Idaho is I'll have a hard time getting to a crawfish boil.....but I do have some frequent flyer miles I could burn up...........:D

Great pictures, Terry. Thanks for sharing.

Don't worry about the Benchmade. I loved those. That was a fabulous pocket knife.

Wasn't the steel ATS-34?

I talked with many people who are staying, and many who are saying "I am not going back." You have to take it all in stride and decide what is best for you and yours. I can respect either decision.

Yes, it's ATS-34, which I learned later was made by Hitachi (I think) in Japan. Funny how they can advertise a "made in USA" model, but the blade is not domestic.

I have two now. The AFCK is no longer made by Benchmade. Sad, because it was one of the best designed knives I've seen.

The Rat Trap is another great design. I loved handling it at Blade when it first came out.

The only other folding tactical type knife I really like right now is the Blade-Tech hunter designed by Tim Wenger. It used to be made by Spyderco.

Mud Bugs!! I have not had a good authentic crawfish feast for waay tooo long. Looks darn good. But where is the BEER?

The SAR looks very nice too. ;)
