A better lanyard?

I'm not sure if it's a "better" lanyard. That's pretty subjective. There are dozens (hundreds?) of different lanyard types and weaves/knots. If you like lanyards, you have lots of choices.

I don't like lanyards or have a use for them on most of my knives. That said, I do like lanyards (actually wrist-strips) on my big choppers to add a bit more stability and safety.

That type of weave tends to be soft and stretchy. Don't think it would feel right pulling it out of your pocket. I would think it would be more prone to holding dust, dirt and fluids too. If you're looking to have extra string on you then yes it would be ok. Also might be nice if you have bigger hands to take up more room when held.

SAK 32 inch double chain lanyard with swivels on both ends with the SAK metal belt loop is "better" than that, and you don't have to take the knife off to use it.

What good a lanyard when you on for example/instance a ladder or boat/ship deck while underway, have to take the knife off to use it, and drop the knife?
How many knives have been dropped overboard since the first boat or raft was invented however many thoudands or millions of years ago, and reside forevermore on the seafloor?
(None of mine, however, "way to many" is my guess ... just like way too many boats/ships over the years have quit floating for whatever reason(s).)

I keep my Scout/Camp/Demo/GI Utility knife on a 32 inch SAK doube chain lanyard ... unless I'm carrying a Marlin Spike that day or days.
