A big burly fixed blade...

One thing I do not have since I sold the BK7 is a big burly fixed blade. Now I have plenty of fixed blades but most of them are in the 4" blade region. The biggest is my JWKnives Tanto, which is my main camping/bush knife. While I love this knife dearly and it is everything I could want in a knife in it's role, I need something more.

I have been looking at the Scrapyard Sycko 511. It's about the size I like and looks like it would be comfortable. But I am also looking at the Swamp Rats, specifically the Rodent 4 and 6. As of this moment, I am leaning towards the Rodent 6. It's just a wonderful looking knife and looks burly enough for me. All 3 of the knives I'm looking at are SR-101 blade steel, which I know nothing of. All 3 are saber ground. I like the looks of the Rodent's handles better.

As usual I am looking for other suggestions before I dump the funding (that's why I put this in General). Anything I should know about any of the afore-mentioned knives? Also, what type of sheath do the Rodents come with, if they do indeed come with sheaths?

None of the Bussekin knives currently come with sheaths because there's no end-all sheath to fit everyone's needs/preferences. If you want something extremely beefy in the 7-8" range, try to swipe a Scrapyard Regulator. The factory price was just $120 and they go for somewhere around $150 if memory serves. It's one heck of a deal. The Yard website still has cordura sheaths up for sale at $25.

Hm, well I really don't want to go bigger than the Rodent 6. I don't really need a chopper, just want something a little bigger than what I have.
