A big choper for a bug out knife

I am still trying to decide if I want a Battle Mistress, A Steel Heart or maybe a Jack, Mr MOFO as the large knife to carry in the Woods for a chopper and as a bug out knife.

Carrying all would be great but I probably should take some food.

I guess I am looking for a set that I would carry in the back woods.

I already have a Grove Master.

Suggestions.

Since you have a groove master, I think I'd recommend something bigger than the jack. After that it's up to you, really. All 3 great knives, but I think I'd recommend the since it's the biggest and best able to handle chopping chores.

I'd go with the Fusion Steel Heart (from the Company Store www.bussecompanystore.com ) or wait for the Fusion Battle Mistress to be released.

Personally, I'd buy the FSH now, and if you want to upgrade later I'm sure you won't have trouble reselling the FSH (even if it is used)

The Mr Mojo is a great knife, but more of a fighter. I sure would rather have something else if you plan on it as a chopper/bob knife

I hope that helps

edited to add: I thought the Company Store had some in stock, however, I just checked and they don't. I think Scott said more are coming though

D'OH!!! The BM..... UNLESS.... You want to get a Basic #9, I just saw one on eBay. The only real difference is the handle. Steel isn't exactly the same, it's called m-INFI (modified) but since there is no discernable difference in use, or price, Jerry stopped using it, called it an experiment and moved on.
On the other hand, the Heavy Ordinance Steel Heart is actually heavier than a standard E handled BM, so it would also be a great choice.

Originally there was a price difference and there actually is a difference in use of MINFI and INFI. However, when they went to order more MINFI the price had then escalated to the point that there wouldn't be much of a price difference, so they discontinued the Basic Line.

It wasn't really an experiment, it just became less cost-effective. Originally it was designed to be a cheaper alternative to INFI, with many of the same characteristics, but not quite all of the performance. I think the basic line in MINFI would have continued if the steel manufacturer hadn't raised the pricing on MINFI.

Why not recommend a BM-E?

Just my personal opinion from handling and using some of them. I prefer the FSH, and after handling the FBM, I think I'd go with one of these 2

Is the Company store phone the same as Busse's

No, the Company Store is located in Idaho and run by the "Skunk's" It is an entirely separate store from the Busse Shop. Think of it as a "retailer" with special advantages ;)
