Thanks to our very own sturzi I am the very lucky recipient if this beautiful Elsener model 1908 solider knife. This one is from 1944. A nice hand written note and the small pouch you see we're also in the box.
This is the first time I won a giveaway here on BF and couldn't be more grateful. The kindness and generosity of the people here never ceases to amaze me. It's a big part of what keeps me coming back here to talk knives and "take a break" from life and current events.

I've wanted a vintage SAK like this for sometime now. So being chosen as the lucky winner is really something special to me. Again, thank you so very much sturzi. :D

The pattern is similar to the current heritage knives. The main difference is the clip main blade instead of a spear point. And the reamer is rounded as opposed to the flat style on the heritage. The scales are the fiber "fibrox" material.
I was really surprised at how big and robust this knife is in person. Surely the latter contributes to it holding up so well for all these years. Check out the blade thickness in the last shot.

So far all I've done is carried it a few times and admired it a lot. I plan to give the joints some oil and minor cleaning and that's it. The knife is in great shape and should last for many more years. It came to me with a scalpel sharp edge and functioning perfect.

And here's some pics.
