As many of you know last June My son Andrew was hit head on by a car moving at around MPH while on we were on a bicycle trip. Well fortunately for us Andrew as healed 100% and has no lasting effects from his injury save another year in braces and a scar on his cheek..( I told him chicks dig scars..)

When RichardJ heard of Andrews mishap he proceeded to out of the kindness of his heart make this custom knife for him..and Ken C jumped on board and made a custom sheath for this knife...It is my sons first custom knife and today it arrived in the mail. Wow what a knife...the balance and weight are perfect and the sheath is a fine piece of craftsmanship.

The reason I post this in community is because I want people to see this knife and realize the kindness and generosity that were shown to my family by these two individuals who in my opinion represent the finest of humanity.

I apologize for the pictures..I ain't no photographer..but the knife is pictured with the June 6, 1944 edition of the Bay City Michigan news paper...

I will post a picture of Andrew with the knife later tonight hopefully...

:thumbup::thumbup: to Richard and Ken C. Imaginary green chicklets coming your way:D

Ren I've met Ken, he's a standup guy and even though he has that moderator tough guy exterior he'd help out anyone he could, Richard's a top notch guy too but let's not forget you Ren your also one of the good guys, don't forget it.

Kudos to you Ken and Richard, people like you are why I keep commin' back here.:)

That IS really cool of them to do that for Andrew!!
I am sooooo happy to hear that he is doing well.

thats a mighty nice gesture...btw Ren did both of the dogs come over for the pictures or was that planned??:D

Great to hear your son is doing so well.
Outstanding gifts from Richard & Ken, may your son use them in good health.
Have you noticed that Knife People are the Best People?

BTW, your newspaper delivery service really sucks, you might want to try tipping a little bit better ;)

thanks everyone for the kind words. i'm glad andrew likes the knife. i wish that my sheaths looked as good as kens. he does awesome work. he had the sheath made in no time after getting the knife.

I am sure that Andrew will enjoy his knife, although, that picture of him with edge resting on finger scares me. I know how sharp Richard_J's knives are. Has Andrew put a bandage on it yet?

That is one sweet knife and sheath setup your little guy has, Ren. Richard_J's knife looks stylish online, but it must be terrifying in person - your dog shrunk inside itself when the knife was unsheathed!

:thumbup::thumbup: Wow, just awesome guys. I'm glad I know peeps like yous guys. :D

I really can not even begin to feel how it must of felt seeing your son in that condition. I'm so glad things are coming around for your family.

Richard thats a sweet blade, with a great looking sheath(awesome job Ken).

I really need to drag my tail 4 hours down the road to meet some of yous fell-ers at Blade 08. :D

An absolutely outstanding job by two of our finest members!!

I an so glad to see Andrew doing so well!

This thread deserves a sticky for a while, so I'm going to do that now.

I feel really slow here. Somehow I either missed this or saw it and completely forgot to come back to it. R.J. I am truly touched by your gift to Andrew. Truly. Teary eyed touched. Its a wonderful gesture and a beautiful knife.
Ken, way to step up to plate for the sheath. Really touching. Both of you.
