It's not always easy being an Euro Piglet. Can't very well get to all the shows Busse attends to participate in the carnage, and moving anything over the Atlantic is always a bit annoying. The secondary market is a bit tricky, too, since a lot of folks don't want to ship overseas, which is of course quite reasonable. Not to mention being in the wrong time zone for a lot of things, such as most of the ganza rampages.
It's no secret that I just plain love the FFBM. It's an enormously fun blade - not too practical, but then, there are many other blades for all the small precision work type tasks. Can't seem to get enough of that thing.
But I digress. The point of this thread was to publicly thank one very generous and helpful Hog for going out of his way and through a whole lot of trouble just so I could get another FFBM. I'm looking at you, Old Pigsics! You are definitely the Hog of the Year in my books.
You all shall have to excuse the awful picture quality - I'm no cameraman, and my "camera" is a distinctly inferior mobile phone one. But here's an OD Green / Green Linen beauty courtesy of Old Pigsics...
And here she is with a couple of smaller friends...
She looks a little on the fat side, to be perfectly frank.
I see some INFI dimples!
Testing her out on some bothersome saplings... Very light left-handed wrist chops took down that tree-hopeful quickly.
Some people say you can't stab with an FFBM. Those people are wrong. Again, a simple and light left-handed thrust sunk the tip a couple of cm in the tree.
The more I use the FFBM the more I like it. Sure, it's thick, long, and heavy, but it chops, batons and generally beats things around like a demon. And after a couple of hours of carnage, it'll still be shaving sharp. Not something I'd want to wear on my belt, but easy to carry strapped to a backpack or in a more swordlike sheath solution. This is coming from a guy who is most certainly not hugely large or muscled, or all that young and vigorous either. I will say one thing - this won't be the last Battle Mistress I shall try to acquire.
But once again, I thank Old Pigsics, that is to say Jamie, for all the work he did for my benefit. You're a great guy.
