Hey guys. Yesterday was kind of a big day for me, since i signed a lease on my first apartment. A lot of you probably know, since ive been on the blade forums for about 6 years now, but im pretty young. Im currently 22, and just graduated college in the spring with a degree in chemistry.

But i am currently pursuing the wood business full time. I support myself completely through Greenberg Woods, and its been wild. I just wanted to say thank you to you guys. I got my start on the blade forums, and for a while when I was in my freshman year dorm you guys were my only clients. Every sale I made was through the knife makers for sale threads, and every box got packed up in my little dorm and shipped out through my university shipping room.

Fun fact, my school thought I was a drug dealer since i was sending so many packages out!

In the last 4 years of running Greenberg Woods ive grown, ive become a better supplier and ive seen knife making change from a niche hobby of engineers and small time enthusiastic to something with a major network TV show (Which i recently started supplying). I went from selling the figured off cuts of boards I saved at my job at a woodshop to importing whole burls and logs from over 20 countries across the world and I just wanted to say thank you guys. You are my oldest customers, and many of you are my good friends. Thank you for calling me out and keeping me true, and for giving me the advice to run a successful business.

Thank you guys. I have no plans of stopping any time soon, and I look forward to continueing to see knife making grow.

Right on!:thumbsup: Good luck, Ben! I'll put in an order when I run out of maple.;)

Ben, what is the current situation with the Dalbergia species?

I've appreciated your input offering advice on how to cut burls ourselves and around sending wood to professional stabilizers for that part of the process. I just cut up 110 blocks of maple burl and had it stabilized at K&G. Used your info on cutting up burls. You've inspired me and I'm over twice your age!

Just a thought....have you ever considered bringing in buckeye burl? There is a guy selling it raw and needing drying on ebay for a price that might make it worthwhile.

I remember seeing people get on to you, and complaining about you. I like seeing people with a strong drive do well, not all do. Congrats!

keep up the good work Ben, +1 on solid and consistent offerings

Congratulations Ben. I have learned a lot from you, and expect i will continue to do so!

(i have done some importing, and know the paperwork and customs handholding is complex and time consuming. Bet you did not see that coming when you selected your major? :-). Good for you for sticking with it!)

Congrats on getting your degree & making your wood biz successful. ———-Guys! I met Ben with he was 16-17? He called me up and wanted to learn, I told him to come on over and I’d show him how I grind blades, for better or worse! ;-). ————-So Ben, are you in S Cal or up north??

Congrats and keep up the good work. I still haven't used that piece of snakewood I got from you but have used a couple of the kingwood pieces.

Well deserved brother, you have earned a name that is synonymous with quality and that goes a long way with knife makers!
