Gus,

I have heard that you are not a fan of excessive sticky's in the forum's you are in charge of moderating. Yet, you incorporated the new sticky with jackknife's wonderful story list all in one thread. It shall no doubt serve as a very useful library reference with all of his writings in one sticky thread. No doubt it will be enjoyed by countless members for many years to come!

I just wanted to say Thank You to you sir! And a big Thanks to stockman242 as well for all his labor helping putting it all together!

This is a great place to be. :)

Anthony

JK'S writings are definetely worthy of a sticky :D

Always a great read.... Thanks Gus

JK's writings are more than worthy and this was a decision Elliot and I made together.

My thing with stickies is just that when Spark let me mod this area, I wanted to try to foster a feeling in this particular forum of a relaxed atmosphere where the interaction was more like what I have experienced when face to face with knife folks. Meaning interactions based on respect and learning. I did not want to have a bunch of stickies at the top of the forum especially with a list of rules and do's or dont's feeling that eventually folks who and an interest in Traditional Knives would eventually gravitate here and offer their knowledge without having to deal with the a lot of the poor behavior and egos that seem to predominate in other areas.

Maybe I was being a little idealistic, but for the most part simply because of the members here, it worked to a good degree. It is good we have this place, it has fostered a lot of genuine friendships. I guess as we grew it was inevitable that we would have bozo's that would pop in here seeking attention, trolling and in short acting like fools. So we put a sticky up trying to explain the atmosphere here that has come about due to the quality of the participants and their attitudes. I hated doing that in a forum where rules were not needed except for those who chose to ignore what we have here or were just seeking to degrade it. (Thanks Trent, you are a peach.)

As far as the Stickies we do have of Old knives, swapping, etc they are great. I just did not want a bunch of do's and dont's when the type of atmosphere here was obvious to people with reasonable cognitive abilities who could base their communications on respect and sharing.

Let's lock this pup and get back to knives and friends.
