Within the span of a week the mail has brought some terrific unexpected gifts from some very remarkable people in our Traditional forum. To be thought of alone is really overwhelming
A package arrived from Jack, aka "Jack Black"---yes people he strikes again---his generosity is LEGEND
Through our correspondence we've discussed knives, coins and WWII history. in an earlier conversation Jack said he has a "wee" pamphlet but had misplaced it, well when he stumbled across it he sent the "When I Join the Ranks" booklet along with a very unique "Cheroot" knife with a spike, blade and fork blade. He said after seeing my posts in the Pipe/Cigar & Knives thread he thought this would and will work out nicely:thumbup: Of course there was a wonderful Post Card with Jacks unique penmanship:thumbup:
Here is what arrived from across the Pond
THANK YOU JACK:thumbup:
Next through emails Gev and I had visited about all things great about our forum and the people that frequent here, in our discussions Gev learned of my love of timepieces and said he had a wonderful vintage Elgin that he'd like to send my way and Gev being Gev, he NEVER forgets the ladies
So he MADE a couple pairs of wonderful earrings that Nancy LOVES. I'm not sure if Gev knew this or not but Nancy's eyes are green and both pairs have shades of green in them:thumbup:
Nancy is AWE STRUCK at the generosity of this forum and the wonderful people within.
Here are the wonderful gifts from Gev:thumbup:
Not only did he send this wonderful Elgin watch but he had it serviced first and a new leather band put on it:thumbup:
The handmade earrings for Nancy...
Thank you Gev from both Nancy and I
The outstanding generosity doesn't end there. Markesharp contacted me after seeing Duncan's thank you thread to Mike Robuck for being gifted the "Gun Traders Guide to Collectible Knives", I remarked how that book would be a must purchase for me. Within minutes Mark sent me a PM asking for my address as he would like to send me the book

I thanks Mark for his generosity and provided my address he asked for. Today the book shows up in the mail with a noticeable buldge
More than a book? YES, Mark, like others here, Glennbad and Esnyx rework knives and Mark sent a Wonderful "Keen Kutter" Spear Barlow that he re-handled and omitted the secondary blade. The knife is stunning as it's covers are a gorgeous smooth redbone:thumbup: The blade is SOLID and centered and needless to say found it's way into my pocket ASAP.
Also included was a terrific hand written note:thumbup:
Pictures don't do the book and Barlow justice but here goes...
THANK YOU Mark!!!
What a wonderful place we have here and I am so thankful to be part of
I also want to Thank Carl, aka Jackknife and Jeff, aka arizonaranchman as when they learned that I was curious to try a pipe, Carl mailed me a wonderful pipe and assorted pipe tobacco's as well as Jeff sending me one of his favorite blends.
I apologize guys as I don't have pictures---the goods are over at my shop---that's where Nanc prefers I do my smoking
