I just want to give a big public Thank You to my friend, Jon (klineh), for a beautiful and incredibly generous gift he sent my way. It is this Laguiole Fontenille Pataud, as re-handled by glennbad:
Jon had earlier put up a thread about this special knife, with much better pics than I can manage: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ed-up-rotten-knives?highlight=glennbad+busted
I have never before owned a Laguiole, so this is a new and interesting experience for me. I am really just blown away by Jons gesture. We have had many dealings and bought and sold several knives between us. Jon is the consummate gentleman and all round great knife guy, and I am proud to be his friend. I have a small thank you gift en route to him at this moment, and although it is not nearly as exotic as the knife he sent me, I hope he enjoys it.
Thanks again, Jon. You are the finest example of the friendly, knowledgeable, and generous men and women who make up the Trads forum.

Edited to add one more pic---showing the Chinese yuan coins which accompanied this fine knife. They were acquired by John's dad on his last trip before retirement as an international corporate pilot---how cool is that?!
