Having noticed how many Schrade 5OT fans there are around here, and not knowing much about them, I started a thread to ask for education: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1121945-Please-School-Me-on-Schrade-5OT-Lockbacks
Well, I got plenty, along with some great pics which piqued my interest even more. Then along came one of our outstanding forum brothers, markpmc, who offered to send me one which had been idle in his toolbox! It recently arrived and it is a terrific little knife---a genuine U.S.A. made Schrade 5OT in stainless (Schrade+). It was in great shape and locks up tight as a drum---zero blade play. And that hallmark sawcut green delrin---it's even better in person than in the photos! All I did was give it a quick clean and polish and then a sharpening, and it was ready to rock and roll. And Mark even included a very classy Schrade leather belt sheath---I was blown away.
Mark, I'm putting together a small "thank you" package which will go out in the mail on Tuesday, although it pales in comparison to this generous gift from you. Thank you so much for this beautiful 5OT and for introducing me---up close and personal---to a real classic.
