A bigger Barlow?

Got my first Barlow today and I can already tell it's gonna see alot of pocket time since it is so far (still very new to slips) one of my favorite patterns. But the blade seems so short and stubby but is an awesome blade profile. Is there a bigger Barlow? I'm thinking super size like a large soddie, although the blade length of the PB jack would be OK too. Or is this generally the size? Its a GEC in ebony wood, not really sure of other info.

Sweet Barlow! I saw that one, but you were to fast for me. Remington makes one bigger. The "big daddy" Barlow has a four inch blade. I seem to remember seeing some other large size ones as well.

There are multiple sizes of Barlow out there. There are baby barlows (between 2" - 2 &1/2") that are smaller than your GEC, then the GEC size. There' a 3" size (blade closed), 3 & 3/8" standard. They also have a 4", a Daddy Barlow & a Grand Daddy barlow that are even larger that are all being made today. The Daddy & Grand Daddy are "normally" single bladed. Barlow's to fit almost any size.

This one is almost 5" long closed. Nearly 9" OAL. Big enough for you?

My favorite big'un is the S&M File & Wire Daddy Barlow with wormgroove bone and ATS-34 stainless @ just under 5" closed.

The S&M are awesome! I have one. But I won't recommend them to people unless they are willing to chance having to alter them (I had to squeeze mine in a vice, and peen the pins, and then sand and polish the bolsters) to get it just right. But I love it.

I also have a grandad barlow from Queen/Burke that I love (it took hours to re-profile the edge, but totally worth it).

The two on the left in this photo.

Just search the term "grandad" barlow.

The Queen/Burke Barlows both big and small are super. The smaller two blade one is larger than GEC and fills my hand nicely. And you won't regret the Schatt & Morgan.
