A bit of history about my Scout model (on my website http://jkhandmadeknives.com/ ). The original Scout had a 6" blade, and was designed by a former BF member. It was featured in the March2009 issue of S.W.A.T. magazine, along with the Hiker, Hiker`s Backup, and the Field Bowie. Shortly afterward I got a call from a fellow in the military about making a slightly smaller version, which I originally called the Scout Jr., which was later changed to Scout, after the original model was dropped.
Here is the Scout on my site. http://www.jkhandmadeknives.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=27507271

Here is what the customer had to say about the knife.

June 27, 2009

I just returned from SERE School. I used this knife throughout the survival section of the course and the knife performed great. I used the knife for everything; from splitting wood for fire to cleaning game. I had a diamond sharpening tool and all I had to do was retouch the blade on the diamond stone and the knife was ready to skin anything. I would recommend any of John's products to anyone that needs a real knife for survival. These knives are made very strong and take a serious beating.

Good stuff! I wholeheartedly agree, these are real world work knives. Anyone who uses their knife as a tool would appreciate your knives.

Nice!

I would think that there is no better atta-boy than hearing from someone who used your knife in a situation like that, with those results. Just jumped on my wish list - which is way too long already. I need to hit the lottery...

Nice! I have seen that model on your website. Looks like a great performer. Thank you for sharing the history.

Actually I had intentions to order that model but John came out with the Compact Combat/ Survival and I was sold on it.
